The Whisperer Remembers ... Clarence Verdin.
A Gridiron Showman
The USFL didn’t last long but while it was around it gave the NFL access to hidden talents that might have otherwise gone unnoticed; this man was one of them. He was small for his position, make that small for any position but the old adage that you can measure the outside but not the inside was aptly applied when it came to him.
Versatile enough to play special teams while maintaining his abilities as an outside receiving threat, he blazed a trail from Washington to Indianapolis before landing in Atlanta and finally ending his career up North, in Canada.
He scored his fair share of touchdowns and when he did, that’s when the fun began…. yes, that’s when “The Verdance” the most celebrated end zone celebration of his time began. Today, Whisperer Nation, get up and moonwalk with me in unison as we remember the football life and times…of receiver/returner deluxe…Mr. Clarence Verdin.

One voice. No filler. The names stay off the masthead — the work doesn't need them.
