Top 11 Things
Ryan Coleman-Williams, CLE QBs, Hoover, Texas draft prospects, Jaxson ... and 6 Other Things.
After watching CLE go up against the Bears yesterday, I'm not convinced they have their quarterback of the present or future in that building. Watson had better numbers, but he didn't wow me ... neither did Sanders ... neither did Gabriel.
Case Keenum impressed me yesterday. Sure, he was going up against rookies and journeymen but just watching the ease with which he played the game and how he seemed toying with the CLE defenders ... yeah, that was cool.
Still hoping that LSU-Jayden Daniels thing blows over. Besides, don't both parties have a season they need to be worried about?
I keep saying it and I'll keep saying it until they give me a reason to stop, keep your eyes on SMU guys. I was in the area last week and had a chance to sit and watch practice ... this team looks good.
While it didn't get the headlines former Duke quarterback Darian Mensah got when he transferred to Miami, but that Josh Hoover move to Indiana was just as big ... maybe bigger.
Jaxson Dart getting tagged on that blitz yesterday against the Vikings wasn't a good sign ... but I don't think it's a sign of things to come this season. Young running back missed the hot blitzer, Saquon won't.
A few years ago, Texas couldn't get a player drafted and they were barely getting invites to the scouting combine. My, my, my how things have changed. Now, the Longhorns are projected to have as many as 14 players drafted in the 2027 NFL Draft and they could possibly have two top five picks in Arch Manning and Collin Simmons.
I think SEA ought to go ahead and start putting out feelers for Jalen Milroe. The Seahawks are set at quarterback and making Milroe, a kid with immense talent sit there holding a clipboard would be a crime.
Camden Brown showed up big last night for DALL in their win over SEA. He'll probably make that Cowboys roster, but if he doesn't, he'll play somewhere in the NFL this season ... and play really, really well.
I'm still not sure how Oklahoma State got that bad that fast.
Remember when Ryan Coleman-Williams of Alabama was considered the WR equal of Jeremiah Smith, the Ohio State phenom? Wondering if he can return to form because the Tide sure could use him.
