Top 11 Things
Texans defense, Ole Miss-Texas, BYU, UH, K-State, Titans uniforms, Bryce ... and 4 Other Things.
If the Texans can get their offense back on track, meaning get CJ Stroud playing like he did two years ago, with that defense they might be the best team the AFC has to offer. I honestly tuned into their games last year just to watch them play defense ... they're that good.
Pulling for Avery Johnson up there at K-State. He came in with high expectations and from time to time he's shown some flashes. Under new HC Collin Klein, himself a Wildcat legend, I'm hoping he has that breakout season we've all been waiting for.
No sneaking up on teams this year Ole Miss. They caught a lot of teams slipping and sleeping in 2025. This year, they'll walk into each game facing an opponent sitting there, ready and waiting ... wide awake.
That Ole Miss-LSU game gets a lot of attention and with good reason. But the best game of the year might be that Texas-Ole Miss game in Austin on October 24th.
DALL signing Von Miller didn't move the needle much, but if he can give them a couple of pressures per game, hey it might be worth it.
Cam Ward not connecting once with Carnell Tate, the 4th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft this past weekend in their matchup against SF is no big deal. Those new Titans uniforms ... now those my friend are something special.
The DET defense almost looked as if they felt sorry for Burrow as they poured through the line for a sack. I felt the same way.
Hard to believe the amount of pressure Bryce Underwood is under up there in Ann Arbor. He was the bell of the ball heading into his freshman campaign. Following a lackluster first season and a so-so offseason, the heat is definitely on.
Aaron Donald coming back to LAR is about the worst kept secret in the history of worst kept secrets.
I really believe the Big XII could be looking at getting two teams in the CFP this year as both BYU and Houston appear to have the right stuff.
While I like the Texans to do big things in the AFC, keep your eyes on DEN. They've got a ton of speed on both sides of the ball and their quarterback is back.
