The Whisperer Remembers ... Kevin House.

The Man was Smooth Personified

The Whisperer Remembers ... Kevin House.

His lone crime was playing in one of the so-called Golden Ages of Wide Receivers where men like Drew Pearson, Cliff Branch, Harold Carmichael, Steve Largent, and Mel Gray were the standard bearers. But the way he played, the game he came with, the catches and runs he made they were far from standard … they were spectacular. The routes were crisp and defined, it was like he was putting on a clinic and the corners he faced were his students and let’s just say … class was definitely in session.

Languishing on an expansion team and in a smaller market his talents were largely ignored but formidable, nonetheless. With track speed, great hands and a willingness to boldly go where no man has gone before (over the middle) he made his mark in the now defunct NFC Central week in and week out. Your eyes were drawn to him and every time the ball was snapped your heart hoped the ball would go to him, simply to watch the silky-smooth moves of a true gift from the football gods.

The man never gave the football world anything less than his best so today Whisperer Nation, hop to your feet and when you do, bring your best round of applause for the man who could always be counted on to show up and show out … former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Wide Receiver … Mr. Kevin House.
