Football Whisperer's AFC East Preview
Nothing Will Come Easy.
Buffalo
The Talk: Will Josh being Josh be enough?
The Whisper: Buffalo is moving into a state-of-the-art, brand-spanking new stadium this year and it’s one of the biggest things people in Western New York are talking about. The other big thing on their minds is whether the Bills left their best plays and days in the old stadium.
Last Word: Even Superman needs a little help.
Miami
The Talk: Will the clouds ever break?
The Whisper: The entire Miami front office brain trust, from GM to Head Coach and all points in between, was overhauled this offseason. There aren’t many roster holdovers either as the Dolphins took their operation down to the studs. These sweeping changes mean a new day is dawning in Miami, but it’ll be a while before their dawns include the Sun.
Last Word: Parental discretion is advised.
New England
The Talk: Has the window opened again?
The Whisper: When the Brady Era ended, Patriots fans braced themselves for what for all intents and purposes looked like the beginning of a long, dreary, frigid football winter. Well, the weather broke last year and a roster that’s light years ahead of where they were projected to be at this point, the forecast is looking bright in Foxborough.
Last Word: Another Patriot dynasty loading.
NY Jets
The Talk: The Knicks did it, why can’t you?
The Whisper: The Jets fanbase is one that’s always been fueled by high expectations and little patience. As he enters year two of his tenure, Aaron Glenn’s honeymoon phase appears to be over. Veteran leadership will help keep games close, but the Jets will still fall short of expectations and further test the patience of their fans.
Last Word: It’s not easy being green.
