The return of Micah, OBJ, Malachi, the SEC, the AP ... and 6 Other Things.
  1. Not having Micah Parsons for the first five games and breaking in a new DC will put the pressure on GB. It'll be interesting to see how they hold up because that NFC North will wait for no one.

  2. The AP has Ohio State as the #1 team coming into 2026. I like the Buckeyes, but I think the defensive losses will be a lot to overcome. They've got talent, but I'm not ready to call them the most talented team in the land.

  3. The SEC has nine teams in the top 25, but none of them, not Alabama, not Texas, not Georgia, none of them got a first-place votes. Interesting, because in years past, the mighty SEC not being a first-place vote getter would've been unheard of. Times ... they are changing.

  4. Everyone is talking about Jaxson Dart getting sacked in the preseason game against MINN ... how about we give a shoutout to Jay Ward, the Viking safety who made the play that sent Dart to the blue tent?

  5. Ty Simpson made LAR look like geniuses, putting on a clinic against KC this past weekend. Looks like whenever Stafford decides to hang up the cleats, the Rams will be in good hands with Simpson.

  6. OBJ isn't a lock to make it in NYC. With JuJu Simth-Schuster and journeyman Braxton Berrios competing for that final spot, it could come down to age and special teams.

  7. Florida, Florida State, Auburn and Clemson all missed the AP Preseason Top 25, but I think at some point this year, each one of those teams will be ranked in that poll. Of the four, I'm watching Auburn with transfer quarterback Byrum Brown leading the way.

  8. Looking for LaNorris Sellers to have a strong bounce back year and he'll need to because if things hold form, that 2027 quarterback draft class is shaping up to be a monster.

  9. Texas needs to learn how to win big games. Over the course of the last three years, they've lost to Ohio State and Georgia twice, Washington in the CFP and Florida in a pivotal SEC matchup. If Texas wants to run with the contenders, they have to stop playing like pretenders.

  10. CHI didn't have Luther Burden II this weekend against CLE, but a lot of the offensive load will fall on his shoulders with the departure of DJ Moore to BUFF.

  11. Malachi Fields, the NYG WR out of Notre Dame will give teams fits this year. He was a steal in the third round and with his size (6'4, 220 lbs.), pairing him with a healthy Malik Nabers gives the Giants one of the best one-two receiving punches in the league.
