Top 11 Things
OU-Nebraska, Notre Dame, James Franklin, Okie State, the Saints ... and 6 Other Things.
I really miss seeing Oklahoma and Nebraska play every year. Someone needs to make that happen again. Those matchups were some of the most legendary and fun to watch ... especially when OU ran the Wishbone and Nebraska ran the Power-I.
If Notre Dame doesn't make a deep playoff run, I'm wondering if the natives might get restless enough to start calling for Freeman's head. They came on late and made a strong push so I'm thinking they're safe.
Not really sure why Tampa didn't extend Baker, but I am sure the chip on his shoulder just got bigger, if that's possible. That guy plays mad better than anyone in the history of playing mad and this year, he's going to be angry.
James Franklin and Virgina Tech were made for each other and I'm happy to see him getting another chance to lead a program, and with all that talent in the Virginia region ... man this could be good, I mean really good.
Oregon gets all the uniform love, but I'm telling you no one dresses better than North Carolina. Those dark blue outfits with the baby blue helmet ... best look in football for my money.
The Commanders really need to protect Jayden this year ... and he needs to do a better job of protecting himself. All that running around with that slight build is a recipe for disaster for him and the organization that has planted their flag on his abilities.
This might be the year that Jonathan Taylor carries the Colts to a big splash in the postseason. I like his work ethic, discipline and the lean he runs with. Big things coming in Indy.
I expect the Saints to be a sneaky good team and make a lot of noise in the NFC South, and I absolutely love their receiving room with Chris Olave and Jordyn Tyson. That's one of the better young tandems the league has seen in quite some time.
The fall of Oklahoma State is perhaps the most amazing decline in the history of college football. I mean one year they're in the Big XII Championship Game ... two years later they're a shell of themselves ... and that's being kind.
I'm still trying to figure out how Rutgers got invited to the Big Ten.
North Carolina needs to come out smoking against TCU during Week 1. Bill B has Bobby Petrino as his OC so that's a good look ... but Notre Dame is waiting in Week 4 so don't get too high.
