Weigman, Campbell, Penn State, JuJu ... and 7 Other Things.
  1. If you're a receiver on the fringe or in suspect standing with your NFL team, keep your eyes on your phone. If a Houston area code pops up just know it's the Texans. After the loss of Higgins, they're in dire need of wide receiver depth.

  2. With the departure of Matt Campbell, I'm wondering how if that Iowa State program can maintain some semblance of relevance. He took them to places they had never seen, now under Jimmy Rogers, who is by the way a gamer, I'll be watching closely to see how things go in Ames.

  3. During this week's LAC-SF game, Jacob Cowing had an amazing 83-yard punt return for a touchdown. On that play LAC punter JK Scott made perhaps the most obvious business decision in the history of obvious business decisions, passing up a potentially touchdown saving tackle as he faded to the sideline.

  4. I'm beginning to wonder if the Alabama coaching staff is just playing it close to the vest with their quarterback or if they're really not sure who the starter should be. With the season only two weeks out, something and someone will have to give.

  5. It was good to see former Texas running back Jonathan Brooks get his first touchdown for CAR in a win over JAX. If he can come on and complete starting RB Chuba Hubbard, the CAR rushing attack should be in good standing.

  6. Do not, I repeat, do not be surprised if Penn State is standing there at the end of the year vying for a spot in the CFP. I've said it before, their schedule outside of Oregon at home and Ohio State on the road, is quite favorable with every other game being winnable.

  7. I promise you the Texans are going to bring JuJu Smith-Schuster in for a look and they should. He's a veteran WR who has been around and knows the game and has the potential of having an immediate impact.

  8. While guys like JuJu are on the radar, I wouldn't the De'Andre Hopkins route if I were the Texans. True, he's a legend and greatest receiver in the history of the franchise, but his days of carrying a receiver room are over.

  9. Maybe Clemson being out of the Top 25 is a good thing. Every year for the past however many I can remember including last year, they've come into the season with lofty expectations. Now that they've been lowered, maybe the team will play better.

  10. Kyler admitted he couldn't see over his line during a play sequence against the NYG and KOC made light of it. Yeah, I think those two will get along just fine and because they will, I'm looking for huge things this year from Murray.

  11. Connor Weigman, the Texas A&M transfer and current Houston quarterback could potentially play himself into the Heisman conversation and secure a Day 2 selection in the 2027 NFL Draft with a solid year.
